The Madison Heights City Council regular meeting on September 28, 2026, approved three public-works and facility purchases. Council awarded DPS pavement repairs to Delicio Contracting of Clinton Township for $91,725, using unit prices from the city’s current road projects, and Fire Station 1 pavement repairs to the same contractor for $184,772; both projects were budgeted. Council also approved Police Department and Fire Station 1 carpet replacement through the Sourcewell cooperative purchasing program, awarding the work to Continental Carpet of Sterling Heights for a stated total of $139,077.81. The staff presentation listed component amounts of $112,541.51 and $26,536.66. The consent agenda, which included a 2026–27 Road Commission of Oakland County winter item, also passed; no amount for that item was stated.

Council approved Ordinance 2214 on second and final reading, prohibiting kratom-related activities in the city, and approved a water and sewer ordinance amendment addressing delinquent charges and enforcement. It also approved the first reading of a rezoning intended to add property to Rosie's Park, with a second reading scheduled for October 12. During public comment and closing remarks, officials said the city’s three Flock license-plate cameras were covered and not supplying data, although the contract had not been terminated. No new Flock purchase or contract action was taken.
