The Lake Havasu City Parks and Recreation Advisory Board met on September 28, 2026. The board voted to recommend Splash Pad design Option B at Rotary Park, within the previously approved $1.5 million project budget. Staff said the option estimates include infrastructure, pump room, fencing, utilities, and splash-pad equipment; the estimates are budgetary, and bathrooms could be added later. Public comments raised concerns about parking, shade, and the selected location. Staff also reported a $15,000 grant for improvements at the London Bridge Beach Lions Dog Park, ongoing Rotary Park dugout work, and plans to finalize the Sarah Park ballfield project for bidding this fiscal year. A separate $7 million capital project to add ballfields is in its early stages.

The board also approved recommendations for athletic-field allocation to forward to City Council: use a three-strike tracking approach in its first year without an automatic penalty, with audits and communication to leagues; prioritize groups based on participant numbers rather than giving one organization precedence; and allocate fields in six-month cycles. Staff reported transitioning recreation registration and reservations from RecTrac to ActiveNet, with no contract amount or purchasing vote stated. The board approved the July 27 meeting minutes and discussed moving its next meeting earlier than Thanksgiving week.
