The City of Zephyrhills CRA and City Council meeting on September 26, 2026, included several budget and infrastructure decisions. The CRA unanimously approved its proposed FY 2026–27 budget (Resolution 877-26) and approved downtown neighborhood street lighting: Duke Energy will install and maintain at least 26 underground lights, with CRA spending capped at $50,000. The City Council unanimously adopted the $171 million city budget. It also approved a roughly $150,000 change order for the city maintenance complex, to be paid from contractor contingency without increasing the contract amount, and approved a three-year ZEDC contract; no contract value was stated. A Phase One tree-planting program, estimated at about $140,000 for design, trees, and two years of maintenance, was brought forward for approval.

The CRA received a $2,470 arborist proposal to assess the oak trees at Clock Plaza. For Alice Hall, an architect’s assessment described significant building deficiencies and recommended replacement; staff was asked to move forward with public input, a location, and design work, with no construction award made. Zephyr Park design work and related funding deadlines were discussed: officials cited remaining ARPA and state appropriation funds, a December 31 spending deadline, and the possibility of requesting an extension. The Reeves Young/Kimley-Horn park agreement was expected back with further information. The Council also received an update on the city’s data-center moratorium and possible local standards, but took no related action.
