The El Dorado County Board of Supervisors’ regular meeting was held September 29, 2026, in South Lake Tahoe. On senior daycare in Placerville, the board voted 5–0 to stop accepting new members, plan for a possible end to county operations by June 30, 2027, explore other providers and volunteer support, and return with an attendance update in April. The county also reported that the move of its South Lake Tahoe senior services to the multigenerational center is expected in mid-October and estimated moving costs at about $3,000, below an earlier $7,000 estimate. For Measure S, the board received and filed the county’s analysis without taking a position; staff said initial county setup costs of about $178,000 would be reimbursable, while ongoing administration costs would not be.

The board discussed the county’s economic development implementation plan, including a potential tourism business improvement district and public outreach. Staff said a small community-engagement contract with Civitas was in procurement and expected to be executed soon; no new major contract or funding award was approved during that discussion. Transportation staff described a phased Mosquito Road rehabilitation plan over the next three years, to be presented through the county’s SP1 program, and said savings from retiring the old bridge would be reinvested in maintenance in the Mosquito community. The completed bridge project was described as a roughly $93 million federally funded project. The consent calendar was approved with Item 8 continued and direction to revisit proclamation policy; a public commenter separately raised concerns about more than $113,000 in Flock camera funding included in the consent calendar.
