The City of Davis Climate and Environmental Justice Commission met on September 28, 2026. Commissioners unanimously approved the agenda and consent calendar. Staff presented results from a pilot home energy score program: 68 assessments were completed, with reports identifying potential weatherization and electrification upgrades and estimated emissions reductions. Participation was free to homeowners and renters during the pilot; the statewide Home Energy Score California program is now available, with a $250 rebate toward an assessment. Cool Davis reported positive participant feedback and said it is evaluating the program and tracking actions households take. The item was informational, with no spending or procurement action taken; no contract award or vendor selection was discussed.

Commissioners also discussed the General Plan committee’s work on the proposed land-use map and upcoming mobility-plan outreach. Staff noted that City Council requested a tree-focused subcommittee, and the commission expects to consider forming one in October alongside the urban forest annual report. A public commenter raised concerns about the city’s tree ordinance, removal-permit costs, and mitigation fees. The commission also heard an announcement about the grant-funded Yolo County Regional Resilience Collaborative. No procurement activity was identified.
