Homewood BZA Meeting Oct. 1, 2026 - 6pm

The City of Homewood Board of Zoning Adjustments met on October 1, 2026. The board approved the prior meeting’s minutes and heard three zoning variance applications; no procurement, contracting, or spending activity was identified. In case BZA 26004500 for Wildwood North Circle, members unanimously approved the sign application as presented, including a wall sign above the first floor. The discussion also addressed the site’s monument signs and whether the proposed sign met the applicable area limits.

The board unanimously approved a rear-setback variance for a screened porch at 906 Salter Road; the applicant said planned driveway work would reduce the property’s impervious area. It also approved the requested setback variances for an addition at 3108 Overton Drive, citing the site’s existing nonconformities, topography, and drainage work. Applicants were advised that the variances generally expire if permits are not obtained and construction does not proceed within one year.
