Logan City Council’s City Shape, Economic Transformation and Transport Committee meeting was held on 7 October 2026. The committee approved a further 12-month e-mobility trial with the existing operator, HelloRide, after hearing that the service had recorded more than 24,000 trips and fewer than 1% of trips generated complaints. The extension was carried with one councillor voting against; officers said there were no current plans to expand the service to other divisions. The committee also considered the Logan Diamond Sports Stadium pre-feasibility study. The report was noted unanimously, with officers and councillors emphasizing that development would depend on private investment, not council or state funding; the study estimated a potential annual operating revenue gap of about $200,000, and investor discussions remain ongoing.

The committee carried Logan Infrastructure Charges Resolution No. 13, which proposes changes to charges and relief criteria for matters including not-for-profit uses, sport and recreation facilities, and small one-bedroom secondary dwellings. Councillors raised concerns about possible investor misuse and the effects of reduced charges on other ratepayers; one councillor abstained and opposing votes were recorded. It also endorsed two walking-network footpath projects for the 2026–27 financial year, using a $300,000 allocation: a Kingston connection between the Butterfactory and Gul Adams Park, and a High Road connection in Waterford. That motion passed with two councillors voting against. The committee endorsed a submission on Queensland’s draft State Planning Policy, including requests for more supporting detail on infrastructure investment and stronger state leadership on hazard mapping. No contract award or vendor selection was identified beyond continuation of the e-mobility trial.
