The Buckingham County Planning Commission met on September 28, 2026. Public comment focused largely on a proposed comprehensive-plan amendment identifying preferred corridors for future high-voltage transmission lines, including the Valley Link project. Speakers raised concerns about property impacts, conservation, water resources, the amendment’s undefined or conflicting corridor criteria, and potential taxpayer costs if the county had to hire engineers, experts, or attorneys. After discussion, the commission voted 7-1 to eliminate the proposed preferred-corridor designations. No contract awards, purchasing decisions, or other procurement actions were identified.

The commission also discussed a pending special-use-permit application involving a shed business and food-truck operations. Staff reviewed requested conditions and zoning options, including a possible rezoning to B1; the applicant’s public hearing was scheduled to be rescheduled to October 26, and staff noted that a traffic impact analysis had not been submitted. The agenda and prior meeting minutes were approved. No procurement-related spending or funding motions were taken.
