The City of Casa Grande Planning and Zoning Commission met October 1, 2026, to consider land-use applications. The commission approved a conditional use permit for Comscapes’ 80-foot communications monopole at 21733 West Clayton Road, with Verizon Wireless as the anchor tenant and capacity for three additional carriers. It also forwarded a recommendation to the City Council to approve a planned-area-development amendment allowing self-storage on a 10-acre site near Kortsen Road and Maria Avenue, with an architectural-articulation condition. A separate conditional use permit for a 954-acre data-center campus was approved, with one dissenting vote. Conditions include a 300-acre-foot annual water-use cap, limits on cooling methods, on-site power-generation requirements, noise standards and monitoring, and additional architectural design requirements. The applicant cited approximately 450 jobs at full buildout; public comments focused on water, energy, heat, noise, and project transparency.

The commission also approved a conditional use permit for a facility involving ammonia-related materials; the motion added a requirement that the city review and approve the hazardous-materials management plan and inventory statement before issuing a certificate of occupancy. Commissioners discussed, but the transcript does not show a final action on, a major amendment to the Vista Estates PAD concerning housing lot sizes and residential design standards. No procurement activity, contract awards, or purchasing decisions were identified; the meeting focused on land-use approvals and development conditions.
