The Former Varian Site Public Involvement Plan (PIP) meeting, held by BevCam Government on September 30, 2026, provided a community update on environmental cleanup at the former Varian site. Representatives of Jacobs, Varian, and the site team reviewed remediation progress: building three’s bedrock treatment stages one and two are complete, stage three injections are planned for fall, and the thermal treatment system has been operating since late July. The team also discussed treatment beneath building five and continued operation and monitoring of the PSL 10 treatment system. Questions covered treatment results, monitoring data, vapor controls, and disposal of recovered contaminants.
The project team said implementation work is nearing completion, followed by continued system operation, maintenance, and groundwater monitoring. A phase four completion statement is expected with the next status report and will include a public comment period; further technical and public meetings are anticipated in winter and spring. No contract awards, purchasing decisions, budget allocations, or other procurement activity were identified.
