DuPage County Transportation Committee Meeting, Tuesday 9/15/26

The DuPage County Transportation Committee met on September 15, 2026, to discuss various transportation-related matters including procurement and capital projects. The committee approved multiple contracts: a $55,000 contract for OEM sweeper parts and repairs awarded to Federal Signal Corporation and Joe Johnson Equipment LLC; a $60,000 sole source contract; and two professional engineering services contracts with Bowman Consulting Group Limited and Thomas Engineering Group LLC, each not to exceed $600,000, for preliminary and design engineering services through October 2029. Additionally, the committee authorized applications for Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program grants up to $5 million for multi-use trail projects along 31st Street and Sterns Road. They also awarded a $242,695 contract to Laura Construction Company for a bridge deck replacement project. The meeting included a public comment on vehicle idling and air quality near schools, followed by a presentation of an anti-idling awareness video. Staff recognition was given to Barb Reynolds for 25 years of service. No other new business was discussed before adjournment.
