The City of Ventura Parking Advisory Committee met on September 10, 2026, to discuss key procurement and contracting matters related to parking infrastructure and operations. The committee approved a professional service agreement with CSG Consultants for environmental consulting services for a new parking structure at Santa Clara and Palm Streets, with a not-to-exceed amount of $211,000 plus contingency. This environmental review will determine the level of study required and is expected to take about a year. Additionally, the committee reviewed a general service agreement request for proposals (RFP) for paid parking operations and enforcement services to support downtown parking improvements. Two proposals were received, and the committee nominated a member to participate in the vendor selection process, with a council decision anticipated in April 2027. The meeting also addressed ongoing challenges with the Harbor Boulevard parking garage's malfunctioning digital system and discussed plans to update municipal codes to support paid parking expansion. Financial reporting on parking operations is expected to resume quarterly or bi-monthly.
