Design Review Board - 9/10/26

The MyGlendale Design Review Board held a meeting on September 10, 2026, to review a design review case for a residential construction project at 3248 Kentucky Place. The project involves demolishing an existing small single-family home and constructing a new two-story, 1,817 square foot single-family dwelling with an attached 441 square foot garage on a substandard 4,550 square foot lot. The board discussed the architectural design, massing, materials, and landscaping, with particular focus on roof design, exterior materials, balcony privacy, and lighting. Several conditions were proposed and adopted, including restudying the garage roof to incorporate a gable and mansard design, wrapping stone veneer around entry volumes, limiting balcony size for privacy, using earth tone stucco colors, and addressing exterior lighting. The board unanimously approved the project with these four conditions. The meeting also included personal remarks from the property owners' family and welcomed a new board member.
