The Granbury City Council held a meeting on September 1, 2026, to approve the fiscal year 2026-2027 annual operating budget and ratify a property tax increase. The budget includes a $20 million bond issue for city street improvements and funding for energy-efficient infrastructure upgrades, including new sports lighting for athletic fields. The council also incorporated the Ameresco budget for energy projects, funded by a 1.5 cent property tax increase to cover debt service. The property tax rate was increased from 42¢ to 48.5¢ per $100 of property value to support these initiatives. The council unanimously adopted Ordinance No. 2663 approving the budget and ratified the tax increase with a 6-0 vote.
