The Richmond Board of Public Works held a meeting on August 6, 2026, during which they approved claims totaling $491,097.73 and payroll of $980,274.51. The board approved requests for new and renewal handicap signs and authorized street closings for a community event. Several demolition contracts for blighted properties were reviewed and awarded: Myxal Excavating Inc. received the contract for 741 South 5th Street at $21,600, and B&B Construction of Richmond Inc. was awarded contracts for multiple other properties totaling up to $35,750. Additionally, the board approved contracts for Target Solutions Learning LLC to provide training modules for the fire department and Cox Excavating Plus LLC for demolition work at 111 South 11th Street. A memorandum of understanding between the Richmond Police Department and Richmond Community Schools was also approved. All motions related to procurement and contracts were passed unanimously.
