Groundbreaking Ceremony for Floral Street Streetscape Improvements

The City of Tallahassee held a groundbreaking ceremony on July 8, 2026, for the Floral Street sidewalk and street improvement project, part of the Greater Bond Neighborhood First Plan. This project, funded as part of a $6.44 million neighborhood revitalization effort, includes new sidewalks, landscape buffers, decorative lighting, and roadway improvements aimed at enhancing safety, walkability, and connectivity. North Florida Asphalt was named as the contractor for the construction work. City officials and community leaders emphasized the collaborative planning process involving residents, city departments, and funding partners such as the Community Redevelopment Agency and Blueprint.
