Planning Commission Meeting // August 11, 2026

The City of Monterey Planning Commission held a meeting on August 11, 2026, where several architectural review permit applications for residential additions were discussed. Two projects involving first and second story additions in the Fisherman's Flats neighborhood were tabled to allow applicants to address concerns related to homeowners association (HOA) compliance and to avoid potential reapplication fees. Another project for a roof cover over an existing patio at 890 McClellan Avenue was approved by the commission. Additionally, the commission reviewed and recommended approval to the City Council for the vacation of a portion of Olmstead Road, which would transfer maintenance responsibilities to the Monterey Regional Airport District and save city maintenance costs.
