The City of Tuscaloosa's Public Projects Committee met on July 28, 2026, to discuss and approve several procurement and contracting actions related to capital improvement projects. The committee authorized a minor public works contract with K A Builders for under $15,000 to expand and upgrade the weight room at the ESD facility. They also approved a professional services contract with Ward Scott Morris Architect for the design of a new 3,600 square foot warehouse and improvements at the meter shop, funded by proceeds from the sale of the Hopkins building. Additionally, the committee approved a $221,740 contract for converting a generator from diesel to natural gas, within a $400,000 allocated budget. An amendment to a contract with TMB was also approved to conduct a study on lift stations and odor control, with funding from the operating budget. All motions related to these procurement actions were passed unanimously.
