The Parlier Unified School District Board held a meeting on June 23, 2026, which included several procurement and budget-related discussions. The board approved multiple contracts, including those for the "Capturing Kids Hearts" program funded by learning recovery grants and literacy coaching funded by reading grant funds. They also approved the 2026-2027 initial salary schedules and the annual budget adoption for 2026-2027, maintaining an 8% reserve for the next three years. Additionally, the board passed resolutions for temporary interfund transfers of special restricted funds and designated certain general funds as committed fund balances for retiree health and benefit insurance. The board approved the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) and its revised federal addendum, as well as authorized designated personnel to sign California Department of Education documents related to childcare and development programs. A memorandum of understanding with the California School Employees Association regarding modified summer work hours was also approved. The board voted to rename Caesar E. Chavez Elementary School to Towale Elementary School effective July 1, 2026, and discussed plans to update school signage and logos accordingly. No new nominations were submitted for the Fresno County Committee on School District Organization. The meeting also featured presentations on student achievements, migrant education program updates, and community empowerment awards, but these did not involve procurement actions.
