Wappingers CSD Superintendent's recommended 2025-2026 Budget

The Wappingers Central School District (WCSD) held a budget presentation on April 23, 2025, outlining the superintendent's recommended budget for the 2025-2026 fiscal year. The proposed budget totals just over $321 million and focuses on maintaining and expanding educational programs, including special education, English language learner support, career and technical education, and safety initiatives. Notably, the budget includes the addition of eight special education teachers, extra English language learner teachers, and increased school safety officers across multiple schools. The budget also plans for two additional registered nurses and upgrades to outdated telephone equipment districtwide. The tax levy increase is recommended at 1.30%, below the 1.57% tax cap, achieved in part by utilizing $12 million from the district's fund balance to offset tax impacts.
