Special Planning Commission Meeting 06.01.26

The City of Soledad Planning Commission held a special meeting on June 1, 2026, to review and approve key environmental and development plans for the Almond Acres subdivision project. The commission certified the Environmental Impact Report (EIR), adopted CEQA findings, a statement of overriding considerations, and a mitigation monitoring and reporting program for the project. They also recommended approval of the planned unit development (PUD 24002) and vesting tentative subdivision map (TM 24003) for a 12.48-acre residential subdivision including 55 single-family homes and a 12-unit 100% affordable multi-family apartment complex. The project aims to address the city’s regional housing needs allocation with a mix of housing types and includes infrastructure improvements meeting city standards. Public comments raised concerns about traffic impacts and public notice adequacy, but the commission approved the resolutions with a 3-0 vote. The project will proceed to the City Council for final approval.
