The City of Concord held its regular City Council meeting on June 11, 2026, where several procurement and budget-related matters were addressed. The council approved contracts including one with Pinnox Incorporated for renovating the former fleet building for the communications department and another with CGZ Engineering PLLC for on-call engineering and design services not to exceed $200,000. Additionally, the council authorized eminent domain actions for multiple items, excluding one that was successfully negotiated. Several preliminary applications for water and sewer services outside city limits were accepted, with clarifications on service availability. The council also denied an annexation request for a 14.10-acre property. A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to the presentation and adoption of the FY 2026-2027 budget totaling $169.3 million in the general fund, maintaining the current tax rate, and allocating funds for transportation improvements, parks and recreation projects, public safety, and economic development. The council approved appointments to various boards and commissions and passed a consent agenda including 58 items, mostly end-of-year budget adjustments. Public hearings and community input on development projects and local issues were also part of the session.
