CPPJ Regular Meeting

The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury held a regular meeting on April 23, 2026, during which several procurement and budget-related matters were addressed. The jury approved grant funding allocations from the gaming fund for community centers, playgrounds, waterline replacements, and economic development events totaling various amounts, including $12,800 for Ward 4 community projects and $35,000 for the 2026 Chennault Air Show. They authorized advertising for bids on road striping and building improvement projects, including re-advertising for the 901 Lakeshore first floor and exterior improvements. The jury awarded contracts for engineering and technical services to Wagner Engineering for an emergency generator sewage project, accepted bids for paving and exterior improvements at parish libraries, and approved a $5,410,000 contract to Pat Williams Construction for Magnolia building renovations. Additionally, a $289,187.87 contract was awarded to Preferred Electric for the Lakeshore Drive signalized crosswalk project. Motions related to these procurement actions were unanimously approved.
