The City of Norwalk Connecticut Recreation, Parks & Cultural Affairs Committee met on July 8, 2026, to discuss and approve several agreements for the use of public spaces for community events, including Project Nine Foundation's community fun day, Marvida Tyson's annual event at Matthews Park, Project Purple's Steps for a Cure walk at Calf Pasture Beach, and Brien McMahon High School Band Parents' Celebration of Sound. Additionally, the committee authorized a contract with Keystone Civic Strategies for a Risk Management Program Assessment and Accreditation support valued at $98,750. Discussions included ensuring affordable catering options, outreach to local businesses for procurement opportunities, and the importance of risk management for public safety and accreditation compliance. All motions related to procurement and contracts were passed unanimously and will proceed to the full council for final approval.
