The City of Madison Wisconsin Plan Commission held a meeting on July 13, 2026, where several key procurement and development-related items were discussed and approved. The commission approved a conditional use permit for converting an office building into a two-family dwelling at 3602 Atwood Avenue, and considered a multi-item proposal for a 163-unit affordable housing residential complex at 1910 Roth Street and 1201 Huxley Street, including a zoning map amendment, conditional use approval, and a certified survey map. The affordable housing project was presented by Devco, with detailed site plans and design considerations discussed. Additionally, the commission reviewed and approved a conditional use permit for construction of a 1,200-seat stadium, concession and restroom buildings, and two storage buildings at the Goodman Athletic Complex on the Edgewood Campus. This item included extensive public comment and discussion on noise, lighting, and neighborhood impact, resulting in approval with conditions limiting sound levels and use times, and removal of a minor alteration clause to maintain neighborhood trust. The commission also approved a certified survey map for a lot division in the extraterritorial jurisdiction and referred a conditional use request for additions to the Alliant Energy Center to a future meeting. The meeting concluded with announcements of upcoming school redevelopment projects and other planning matters.
