He noted record sales tax revenues of $24 million and emphasized support for both large and small businesses. The mayor also discussed ongoing and planned capital improvements including neighborhood beautification grants, parking and storage solutions, and a new police resource center in Newbury Park. Public safety funding was increased, maintaining Thousand Oaks as one of the safest cities of its size. He addressed the city’s jobs-housing imbalance and cautioned against overdevelopment, particularly opposing the Amenson City project due to traffic and pollution concerns. The mayor called for fiscal prudence in light of a projected state deficit, advocating for reduced government waste and ending tax subsidies to developers.
