The City of High Point Finance Committee convened on May 28, 2026, to discuss several procurement and budget-related items. Key procurement actions included approval of a construction manager at risk contract with Metcon for the Electric Utilities Operations Center project, structured with multiple guaranteed maximum price (GMP) phases. The committee also approved demolition of an existing building at 205 Model Farm Road for $166,751 and an architectural services agreement with Lindsay Architecture valued at $1,573,660 for design and specification work on the same project. Additionally, the purchase of 49 steel transmission poles was approved as part of a long-term capital plan to replace aging wooden poles. Finally, the committee approved the annual order empowering Forsyth County tax administration to collect property taxes within city limits. Motions for all procurement and budget items were passed unanimously.
