Winston-Salem Choice Neighborhood Legacy Heights Groundbreaking

The City of Winston-Salem held a groundbreaking ceremony on April 2, 2026, for the Choice Neighborhood Legacy Heights project, a multi-phase affordable housing development aimed at revitalizing the Cleveland Avenue area. The project will deliver 406 mixed-income homes, including 207 units reserved for former residents displaced by prior demolition. The city has invested over $30 million in gap funding, with additional support from state and federal agencies, as well as private lenders and investors.
