The Granbury City Council held a meeting on April 7, 2026, to discuss and approve a lease agreement with Texas EMS, a Texas nonprofit corporation, for the creation of EMS Station #4 in the Commerce Center on Ruth Smith Drive. The project involves a joint venture to build a fire station with an ambulance facility, with land donated by Mr. Durant and construction funded by ARPA funds. The city will invest up to $300,000 to cover fire suppression system installation, water taps, street repairs, permitting, impact fees, street lighting, and engineering costs. The lease agreement includes provisions for shared maintenance responsibilities and utility cost sharing. The council voted to authorize the city manager to finalize the lease agreement and fund the project up to $300,000, thereby enabling the establishment of the new station to serve the northwest area of Granbury, including new residential and commercial developments.
