2025 Veterans Day Ceremony

The City of Pico Rivera held its 2025 Veterans Day Ceremony on December 1, 2025, to honor and recognize the service and sacrifices of military veterans from the community. The event featured speeches from local officials including Senator Bob Archeletta, Mayor Johnny Garcia, Assembly Member Lisa Calderon, and city council members, as well as veterans sharing their personal military experiences. A significant highlight was the proclamation of Pico Rivera as an official Purple Heart City and the presentation of mock renderings for a new Purple Heart monument to honor those wounded or killed in combat. The ceremony also included a symbolic POW/MIA table, musical performances, and prayers. While the meeting focused on honoring veterans and community recognition, no procurement, contracting, or budgetary decisions were discussed during the event.
