The SID model offers more stable funding and a unified voice for businesses in dealings with the city, enabling coordinated marketing, beautification, and services like snow removal. Challenges discussed included securing buy-in from property owners, especially landlords who may pass costs to tenants, and defining contiguous district boundaries. The meeting also highlighted available resources for small businesses, including grants, loans, and technical assistance from the Urban League of Greater Cleveland, Kyoga County, and federal programs. City officials emphasized ongoing efforts to support small businesses through ARPA funds, corridor improvement projects, and partnerships with local organizations. The committee plans to continue engagement with business owners to build consensus and move forward with establishing a Business Association or SID to revitalize the Noble Road area.
