Business License System Information Session

The City of Manhattan Beach held an information session to introduce a new user-friendly business license system developed in partnership with HDL, an industry-leading firm serving over 100 cities. The new platform enables online renewals, applications, payments via credit card or eCheck, and allows businesses to update contact information and download electronic license certificates. The system aims to streamline the renewal process, eliminating the need for submitting gross receipts documentation, and offers enhanced customer support including bilingual services and on-demand interpretation. The city emphasized that HDL supplements but does not replace city staff services. The session included a live demonstration of the portal, outlined the renewal timeline, and addressed questions from the business community regarding system features and fees. The city plans ongoing updates and support throughout the renewal season and beyond.
