The City of Fitchburg held a groundbreaking ceremony for GiGi's Playhouse, a Down Syndrome achievement center dedicated to providing free, lifelong programming for individuals with Down syndrome and related disabilities. The project has garnered significant community support, including a $1 million lead gift from an anonymous family foundation, and additional grants and donations totaling over $350,000 from various organizations. While the land has been officially purchased and construction is beginning, fundraising efforts and volunteer recruitment will continue to support the center's mission of creating an inclusive and empowering environment.
