The City of Oxnard's Finance and Governance Committee received a presentation on the Whistleblower Activity Report covering the period from January 10 to June 30, 2025. The report detailed the purpose and operation of the whistleblower hotline program, which allows employees and residents to report improper governmental actions such as corruption, malfeasance, bribery, theft, or gross misconduct. The internal auditor screens reports for merit and relevance, prioritizing investigations based on potential financial loss and severity. During the six-month period, 11 reports were received, all determined to be non-fiscal in nature. The process ensures timely assessment and appropriate investigation to protect city resources and maintain governance integrity.
