The City Council of Oxnard discussed and authorized the assessment and collection of fees for the Oxnard Downtown Management District for fiscal year 2025-2026. Established in 2001 and recently renewed for five years in 2024, the district funds enhanced maintenance, security, business development, beautification, and related management services beyond what the city provides. The Downtown Oxnard Improvement Association (DOIA) manages the district and submitted annual assessment materials for council approval. The total anticipated revenue for the fiscal year is approximately $603,325, with a 5% increase in fees. Funds will support district identity and placemaking, public safety programs, and administrative operations. The county collects assessments via property tax billing and remits them to the city, which then forwards them to DOIA. The council adopted a resolution to authorize these assessments and collections.
