Municipal Lands Identified for Possible Housing Developments

The City of Windsor has conducted a comprehensive review of municipal lands to identify sites suitable for housing developments aimed at increasing the local housing supply, including affordable and missing middle housing. Several key properties have been earmarked for potential development, such as the former WD Low Secondary School site, Karan Avenue parking lot, and Pisher Street parking lot. Notably, plans include redeveloping the area around the curling rink with a new clubhouse and an innovative condominium complex featuring 38 one- and two-bedroom units with green amenities. Public engagement is a priority, with an information center scheduled and an online survey to gather community input. This initiative aligns with the city's Housing Accelerator Fund application and addresses the broader national housing crisis.
