Bloomington Historical Society receives grant to digitize collection

The City of Bloomington, Minnesota, through its Historical Society, has been awarded a one-year grant from the Minnesota Arts and Heritage Fund to digitize its extensive collection of artifacts. This funding enables the purchase of a data system to transition from handwritten inventories to a professional digital database, allowing for better cataloging and public access via the Minnesota Collections online platform. The project is progressing well, with 866 items entered out of a targeted 1,000, enhancing both inventory management and community engagement by making the collection accessible beyond the museum's physical location.
