The Lenoir City Council meeting on November 3, 2026, included recognition of the city’s 2026 North Carolina Planning Association award for its comprehensive plan, developed with consulting assistance from Freese Nichols. Council unanimously approved consent agenda items A–D, including acceptance of the water and sewer system asset management plans and approval of a nondiscrimination policy required for ARPA-funded work. The asset-management project, developed with McGill and Associates, was funded through a North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality Water Infrastructure grant program and provides a long-term roadmap for managing utility assets. No contract award, vendor selection, or new spending allocation was announced.
