The Columbia School District No. 400 (Columbia Coyote) Board of Directors’ regular meeting was held November 6, 2026. The board reviewed district finances and facilities planning. The district reported budget balances updated through July, including $278,000 in the general fund, $295,000 in the debt service fund, $168,000 in the ASB fund, and $136,000 in the TVF fund. A $118,000 depreciation payment was received in August, with funds expected to be used as a new bus arrives in the coming months. Enrollment was reported slightly above the budget assumption, and administrators said they are monitoring it closely.

The superintendent outlined plans to restart the community facility-planning process in January 2027 and develop an updated 10-year facilities plan. The district has completed several previously identified projects, including security-camera and water-system upgrades, playground improvements, and middle-school bathroom work supported by a grant; no new bond, capital project, contract award, or purchasing authorization was approved at this meeting. The board unanimously approved 10 policy items. It also discussed special-education and multilingual-learner programs, grant-funding coordination, and the option—but not a decision—to charge sliding-scale tuition for transition kindergarten. The consent agenda was also put to a vote and approved.
