The Folsom Cordova Unified School District Board’s regular meeting on November 5, 2026, included several facilities and contracting updates. The Facilities Committee reported that a contractor for the Rancho Cordova Elementary modernization project is expected to be presented at the November 19 meeting; RFPs related to bond sales are being scored; and Cordova High School bleacher work remains pending before manufacturing can begin. The district also plans summer administrative renovations at Theodore Judah Elementary. In response to public comments about inadequate shade at Sandra J. Gallardo Elementary, the board requested that Facilities explore costs and options, then refer the findings to the budget advisory committee. Speakers cited an estimated $130,000–$150,000 for shade structures and a planned $1.74 million modernization in 2028–29, with shade inclusion not yet confirmed. No construction contract award was made at this meeting.

The board approved updated 2026–27 leadership and certificated salary schedules, including a 3% increase for the superintendent and assistant superintendent consistent with approved labor agreements. A special education update reported continued use of 12 nonpublic school agency partners, with average per-student costs rising from about $77,000 in 2025–26 to approximately $91,000 this year; a net reduction of 10 placements was estimated to represent roughly $770,000 in avoided costs. The board also discussed a proposed resolution to encourage CSBA to support legislation allowing qualifying surplus public land to be transferred to California tribes; it was for discussion only, with possible formal action to come later. A $10 million threshold for enhanced reporting on major construction projects was also discussed. No new vendor selection or procurement award was approved.
