Town Council Special Meeting - November 5, 2026

The Town of Stratford Town Council held a special meeting on November 5, 2026. The Council amended and approved appointments to the Building Needs Subcommittee, naming Ireland Gilmore, Ed Kingston, Yvonne Daniels, James Sonka, Kyle Cochran, Amy Wiltse, William Kraus, and Justin Scheidinger. It also approved recommending the school facilities strategic-plan presentation to the subcommittee.

Representatives from Stratford Public Schools and Colliers Project Leaders described planning for potential school consolidation and facility improvements in light of declining enrollment and building needs at Bunnell High School, Wooster Middle School, and Flood Middle School. Silver Petrucelli was retained in September through an RFP process to assess six preliminary scenarios and identify site, logistical, and educational constraints; no scenarios have yet been eliminated. The subcommittee is expected to narrow the options, with a possible single project scenario for consideration in 2027. Education specifications are being developed, with committee approval and presentation to the Building Needs Committee anticipated by January. No contract amounts or procurement votes were stated.
