At the November 6, 2026, meeting of the Westfield Washington Schools Board of Trustees, administrators presented an overview of a tentative agreement with the Westfield Classroom Teachers Association. The agreement includes salary-schedule placement based on teaching experience, recognition of related work experience for qualifying career and technical education instructors, and a district contribution equal to 1% of each bargaining-unit member’s salary to a 401(a) retirement account. The presentation said changes and retroactive payments would be reflected in June paychecks, following receipt of referendum funds expected in June 2027.
The agreement also expands sick-leave-bank eligibility to include mental-health and substance-abuse treatment, provides 10 paid parental-leave days after a child’s birth, and allows certain eligible retirees to remain on the district’s insurance plan while paying the full premium themselves. A WCTA representative thanked the board, administration, and community for supporting the referendum. The transcript records no board vote or procurement action; the discussion concerned compensation and benefits under the tentative labor agreement.
