The Edgar County, Illinois, County Board met on November 4, 2026. The board approved county-bridge-fund assistance for drainage improvements on Cox Lane and Sulphur Springs Road in Paris Township. It also approved extending the Bell Weather agreement for HR and legal support from December 1, 2026, through November 30, 2027, with no cost increase, and approved a Harris annual lock-in agreement that was reported to save approximately $13,000. The board approved an amendment to the existing E911 lease to locate the dispatch facility and equipment at the new public safety center, as well as a memorandum of agreement defining the 911 director’s direction and advisory authority. It also approved transferring up to $5,000 from the aviation fuel fund to the general fund.

The board voted 4–3 to place the proposed FY 2026–27 budget and levy on public display; this was not final approval of the levy. Members discussed further budget review, possible staffing and expense reductions, joint dispatch, and scheduling public budget study sessions. No final levy amount or specific staffing reductions were approved at this meeting.
