The Salinas Airport Commission meeting on November 5, 2026, included approval of the consent agenda. Procurement and leasing discussions centered on an upcoming RFP for available space at 240 Mortensen Avenue: the RFP, approved by the City Attorney, is expected to be released in December, with proposals evaluated on factors including aeronautical use, community benefit, lease term, and proposed rent. A committee of two was discussed to review proposals; a recommendation is expected to go to the Commission in January and then to City Council for a decision in late January or early February. No lease award was made at this meeting.

The airport reported purchasing a new restaurant range oven for $20,500; airport-owned equipment is maintained under the restaurant’s lease. Staff also discussed a potential Archer rotor test stand land lease, still subject to FAA review, with Archer paying for the study and an update expected after the first of the year. The airport’s 13-acre business park site is expected to receive its land-use covenant by the end of December after about $175,000 in soil testing, making it ready for commercial development; no project or award was identified. The Commission also asked staff to clarify reporting of electricity sales under the charging-station arrangement. No procurement award vote was reported.
