The Spanish Fork City Airport Advisory Board meeting held November 5, 2026, covered airport finances, facility projects, business requests, leases, and tie-down policy. Staff reported approximately $120,000 in landing-fee revenue over the prior 12 months. Taxiway Bravo Phase II was substantially completed by contractor Geneva, with final punch-list work underway; a lighting regulator remains on back order until December. Design and engineering for Phase III are planned through winter and spring 2027, with bidding targeted for March 2028 and construction completion by October 2028. Funding is expected from state and federal grants and local county funds. The board also approved a five-year Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands helipad lease at $5,000 annually, with a 3% annual increase.
The board approved business requests for OpenSky Aviation (conditional on meeting requirements and securing a hangar or tie-down), a time-building aircraft rental business, MyFlight, and Shore Flight Aircraft Completions. It also approved a development ground-lease request for Shore’s proposed Hangar 131 addition; site-plan and development review, permitting, and City Council approval remain necessary. Following public concerns about revised hangar lease terms, the board voted to proceed with lease changes subject to city legal review and City Council approval, with staff to work toward incorporating the revisions into the standard lease template. The board adopted an updated tie-down use policy establishing review and corrective-plan procedures for inactive, unairworthy, or otherwise improperly stored aircraft.
