Highway Department actions included requests for approval of the 2027 Motor Fuel Tax maintenance resolution and cost estimate, authorizing spending on items such as signage, posts, and oil-and-chip maintenance; a resolution to declare a surplus trailer for auction through GovDeals; and a resolution covering the county engineer’s salary and reimbursement through IDOT’s Surface Transportation Rural funds. The transcript records motions on these items but does not clearly capture their final votes.
The committee unanimously approved a $250,000 FY2026 highway-fund budget amendment for phases one and two of environmental and design work on the Route 66 bike trail from north of Towanda to the Livingston County line. The project received a $1.875 million Local Road Funding grant, and $600,000 for the work is included in the FY2027 budget. Staff also reported progress on the Hudson West Road project and another roadway/bridge project, with work expected to continue toward reopening later in the year. Building and Zoning reported completion of a special-use proceeding for a solar farm near Lexington; the resulting city contract was reported to provide the city about $275,000. Regional Planning updated the committee on public engagement for the 2044–2045 comprehensive plan; no new procurement action was identified there.
