The Town of Apex Multimodal Transportation Advisory Board met on November 4, 2026, according to the meeting title (the metadata lists November 5 UTC). The board reviewed the preliminary, staff-requested five-year transportation Capital Improvement Plan (CIP), which is not yet adopted. Projects discussed included the Apex Peakway North widening, Safe Routes to School improvements (including a preliminary $2.35 million request), S Line mobility, and West Williams sidewalk work. Members discussed project prioritization, delivery capacity, right-of-way and permitting constraints, and the timing of GoApex improvements; staff noted that existing work and bus-stop amenity projects may make a new GoApex funding request for FY2028 difficult. A motion passed to forward the infrastructure subcommittee’s identified priorities as presented in the staff CIP request, with the budget department to flag them for council. The budget priority survey is open through December 1, with further council and public input opportunities planned; no contract award or vendor selection was identified.

The board also discussed improving transit access and rider accessibility, including bus-stop shelters, a potentially difficult Walmart connection, vehicle maintenance issues, stroller and cart boarding practices, and advance notice for route detours. It voted to add discussion of GoApex detours and recommendations for future detours to the Safety and Accessibility Subcommittee’s scope. Staff described a new annual-report process for advisory boards that will help inform council and the budget process. Outreach planning included a bus-operator appreciation day and a spring campaign; these discussions did not result in a procurement action.
