Glynn County Board of Education - Live Stream

The Glynn County Board of Education work session, held November 5, 2026, included a September financial report and facilities/procurement updates. The board was asked to approve BFC Solutions’ HVAC filter service at $70,465.15 per year, following its lowest qualified proposal; the service covers five systemwide filter replacements annually and may be renewed for up to four years. Staff also presented a $1,994,774 guaranteed maximum price from Pope Construction for restroom additions at Brunswick High’s track, softball, and baseball facilities; Pope was the sole bidder, and the work would be funded through local capital outlay. Other spending requests included 33 AEDs for $59,201 using safety grant funds, track equipment totaling $112,000 from capital outlay building funds, and new Brunswick High baseball and softball lighting and Glenn Academy weight-room upgrades funded by East SPLOST (amounts not stated). The board was also asked to approve the sale of 13 unserviceable buses. No votes on these procurement requests are recorded in the transcript.

The board heard that bids for the C.B. Greer summer renovation are due November 19, with a guaranteed maximum price to be brought forward afterward; Woodland Elementary construction was progressing. Other agenda items included renewal of the ParentSquare communications software, with no renewal price stated, and reapproval of a plasma-table purchase under the Top State for Talent grant to correct the vendor record from Lincoln Outfitters to Main Oxy; the amount was unchanged but not stated. The financial report noted revenue adjustments, including a $558,300 property-tax increase and a $140,000 QBE increase, as well as transfers of approximately $1.704 million from the closed East SPLOST 3 accounts to East SPLOST 5. The transcript records votes on entering executive session and adjourning, but not on the procurement requests.
