The Anchorage School District Finance Committee met on November 4, 2026, to review the draft FY2026 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR), discuss how administrative costs are defined and reported, and begin a discussion of a school giving hub. Staff said the ACFR would be finalized by November 15; auditors BDO were scheduled to present on November 17. The district reported an unrestricted fund balance of 6.94%, down from 13.4% the prior year, and $329 million in expenditures across capital projects. Members discussed the need for clearer information about available carryover funds and resources for student needs, as well as the district’s administrative functions, staffing trends, and maintenance-of-effort compliance. Staff offered to provide additional materials, including the maintenance-of-effort evaluation and an accounting crosswalk.

The giving-hub discussion covered how donations would be tracked and which school accounts could receive them, the limits on donor restrictions, and potential uses such as supplies or field trips, subject to district policies. Staff described a planned January 13 launch. No contract award, bid approval, procurement vote, or other spending motion was identified; the meeting included discussion of capital-project expenditures and possible school-level uses of donated funds.
