El Paso County Planning Commission hearing, November 5, 2026. The Commission recommended approval of the Pyramid Mountain Filing No. 1 final plat (SF262), with five conditions and three notations, by an 8–0 vote, and recommended approval of the AFT Ranch vacation and replat (BR261), with five conditions and four notations, by a 9–0 vote. It also approved the location of a fire training facility at 6365 East Platte Avenue (U262), converting an existing warehouse to a training facility and support offices, with three conditions and one notation. The applicant said training would use brief burns with light fuels and follow weather-based go/no-go procedures coordinated with the Colorado Springs Airport. After correcting the record to reflect that the Planning Commission had final authority on the location approval, the Commission voted unanimously to approve it.

The Commission considered two rezoning requests for the MA subdivision: RM12 (P2612) and RS5000 (P2611). After public testimony and discussion focused on master-plan consistency, rural character, density, traffic, and water/wastewater capacity, the Commission voted 7–2 to recommend denial of P2612 for lack of conformance with the master plan. It also moved to recommend denial of P2611; the transcript does not clearly capture the final vote tally. A member of the public separately urged a substantive public review and amendment of the county master plan before adoption of the rewritten land development code. No procurement activity, contract awards, or purchasing decisions were identified.
